Michael Feichtenbeiner: An Important Piece in the FA Selangor Transformation Puzzle

Selangor took another step in their long-term football development with the appointment of Michael Fechtenbeiner as the technical director and the head coach of the reserve team recently.

THis UEFA Pro Football license holder will be given the responsibility to oversee all technical aspects of Selangor football as well as being the head coach of the reserve team and help the development of young talents.

His main objective after returning from Christmas break is to develop Selangor’s footballing DNA, unearthing talents that will be able to compete with the first team players, introducing guidelines to scout and recruit players that are suited to the Selangor footballing philosophy and also implementing sports science in the developmental squads.

MIchael has over 36 years of experience working in four different countries, holding positions such as coach, sporting director and head of youth academy.

Michael’s career took him all over the world. He has worked not only in Germany, but in other European countries such as Switzerland, Scotland and in Asian countries such as Indonesia and Malaysia.

For the record, he used to be the head coach of Selangor MPPJ FC in the year 2005 alongside the current Selangor head coach, B. Satiananthan.

However, the main factor that led Selangor to offer the Technical Director role to Michael is his experience as the German U-17 head coach, a position which he held for 4 years since 2015.

Hopefully, with the quality and experience that Michael Feichtenbeiner brings to the table, the Red Giants transformation journey will be more complete and more quality young players will be produced for the long term future of this club.
